The PC version appears to be a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store. Currently, Saints Row is planned to release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4 on the 25th of February 2022. The map is said to be “the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created”. With the help of three companions, Neenah, Kevin and Eli, you’ll be tasked with building up your gang’s reputation and overthrowing three rival gangs, Los Panteros, Marshall Defence Technologies and The Idols. In the reboot, players will create their own custom character looking to start up a new gang called ‘The Saints’. While the game is set to release in early 2022, the Gamescom trailer does not include gameplay, but the cinematic does a good job of setting the tone for this new game: The game, simply titled ‘Saints Row’, is a reboot for the series set in Santo Ileso. Before all of this, Saints Row seemed more grounded, with relatable characters and a focus on gang warfare - features fans appear to have missed since the franchise's change in direction. The new game will be ‘more grounded’ than Saints Row 4, featuring a new story and cast of characters. Volition’s multiplayer game, Agents of Mayhem, doubled down on these activities as a spin-off of Saints Row 4’s Gat Outta Hell expansion. Just as promised, last night during Gamescom Opening Night Live, the Saints Row reboot was officially announced.
